Katadyn Micropur Classic MC 1000F is a water preservative that keeps your drinking water fresh for up to 6 months. When water is stored in containers for longer periods, bacteria in the water begin to multiply, and therefore the water may no longer be drinkable.
The product does not contain chlorine and is odorless and tasteless, so it does not affect the taste of drinking water. Add 1ml to 10 liters of water and leave for 2 hours, after which the water will remain drinkable for up to 6 months. The effect of Micropur is based on the bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties of silver. Unlike chlorine, which is only effective for a few hours in water, silver ions will preserve water for up to 6 months.
The silver ions cling to the cell walls of micro-organisms thus hindering their growth. Swiss company Katadyn specializes in products that improve the quality of drinking water, which is why this product is also suitable for the emergency shelf.
